At approximately 13:05 today one of our switches in TeleHouse North (London-3) failed.
After some investigation it appears that engineers working on behalf of another company, in adjacent racks, disconnected the wrong power feed from the main TeleHouse distribution which caused our equipment to power down in error.
Once they had identified their mistake they reconnected the power and our equipment was returned to service at approximately 13:25
We have raised a complaint with the company concerned, who have apologised profusely.
This company are in fact vacating these racks in order that we can take them over to increase our presence in TeleHouse. Once they have completed the removal this sort of human error should be considerably less likely as we will then have the majority of the row in TFM3 and have our own isolated power distribution points.
We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused by this outage, and assure you we are taking steps to ensure this should not happen again
