apps-store-2 emergency maintenance

Owing to an application level failure, we have been forced to reset and reboot apps-store-2 in order to try and address a performance issue on this node.

 

Customers with email stored on this node will have been unable to access their emails from 13:33 today through to approximately 14:00

 

We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.  It was deemed necessary to force a reboot and take the short term disruption rather than continue to suffer degraded service caused by inconsistent virtual memory services on the node
This is the first reboot of the node for over 200 days and we have also taken the opportunity to upgrade the kernel, something which would have otherwise been scheduled for the Bank Holiday weekend maintenance slot

 

UPDATE: It has now become apparent that there is a more serious hardware failure on this node.  Engineers are investigating and working to address the issue at this time

 

Further update: we have restored apps-store-2 to service and are migrating all user mailboxes from this node so that we can perform additional hardware maintenance (hopefully over the BH weekend)
