Fido.Net Status Updates

Upcoming Web Server Upgrades

Dear Customer,

Over the next 2 weeks something wonderful is going to happen to your current hosting subscription.

Having extensively tested Plesk 9 over the last few months we are planning a major upgrade of our hosting accounts, with a view to moving everyone onto the latest Plesk and the latest versions of things like PHP and MySQL.

What does this mean to you? Well it means you will have access to the latest / state of the art technologies. In addition, we are also planning on upgrading the hardware upon which your hosting resides – which means things should be even faster and more reliable!

Most (if not all) of these changes will happen quietly, seamlessly and without you even noticing over the next 2-3 weekends. What you may notice is (in some cases) the IP address for your web site changes. If we manage your DNS (which for 99.9% of our customers we do) then we will do all the hard work, and things will “just work”.

If we do not manage your DNS then you should where ever possible change this, so that (at least) you are using our name servers – and preferably you physically transfer your domain onto our registry so that we can manage things for you without you having to worry.

The benefits of Parallels Plesk 9 can be seen in the online demos, and through our web site at www.fido.net/plesk

If you have any questions, queries or concerns then please contact our support team through the online support portal at www.fido.net/support quoting your domain name and account number

It is our aim to make the upgrades run as smoothly as possible, allowing you to benefit from all the latest and best technologies!

Yours Faithfully
