At approximately 5:45am we were alerts to an outage on a part of our network, with some services being unavailable. Engineers investigated and discovered that a core switch within our network was non-responsive and not passing traffic.
An engineer was dispatched to the DC and discovered a failure on the switch. A spare switch was quickly collected from our spares store and installed in replacement of the failed unit and all services should have been restored by approximately 9:30am.
