This week has seen us make good progress against our recovery plan, and once more tremendous efforts across the business have meant another new Openreach record for completions, with 133,600 jobs completed last week – this is about 2k up on the previous week which until now was our best ever week.
We have achieved a significant reduction in both the repair and the provision work stacks in the last few days, attributable to the high level of completions we’ve delivered and more and more resource joining our front line with each week that passes. This activity means that we are 45,623 jobs ahead of our stated plan.
We start today with 31.4k faults in our repair work stack and we plan for the work stack to be around 25k by the end of this week, with a challenge for all of us in Openreach to beat that target as we enter the weekend.
While we have flexed provision lead times in some areas to allow an additional focus on repair following periods of heavy rain in some areas of the UK, we have been able to improve the position this week, with lead times reducing from a national average of c.27 to c.26 working days.
MBORC Update
This huge amount of activity has also contributed to our ability to be able to lift MBORC declarations in four SOM areas as of 09:00 today. These areas are as follows:
Central Scotland
North East Scotland
North Wales
Stoke & Chester
We continue to review the situation regularly in the three SOM areas where MBORC remains, with a view to removing MBORC in these areas as soon as possible.
