At approximately 10:30 am on April 1st, a number of broadband customers experienced connectivity problems / disconnections.
Following detailed investigation by our providers (Enta, Kingston & BT Wholesale) a fibre break was identified at a major connection point in the Kingston area.
Owing to the nature of the damage, all services in and out of the facility were affected
A temporary repair was undertaken by 15:30 restoring connectivity
A permanent fix has been prepared and was installed at 18:00 today, and all services operating through the Kingston PoP are now once again operational.
At this stage we are uncertain as to how / why the fibre link inside the building and in a secure area was damaged, and investigations are being undertaken by telco suppliers into this issue.
