Fido.Net Status Updates

Emergency Maintenance

Maintenance has now been completed – we worked to keep any disruption to a minimum whilst replacing the faulty drives in this server – however would like to apologise to any customer affected whilst we worked on this server.

====

We have had to perform an emergency reboot of one of our hosting servers (vpsh6).

As a result sites and virtual private servers hosted on this server will be unavailable briefly.

We anticipate service should be restored by 13:25 BST

13:30 – the reboot didn’t resolve all problems so we are in the process of decommissioning this server and moving all hosted sites onto alternative servers. This will involve a brief outage on each site as they are moved.

17:00 – The move of accounts is going well however it will be several hours before all hosting accounts are moved off this server in order that we may take it fully out of service to check the RAID arrays

Saturday 30th June

03:00 – All accounts have now been moved off and the drives checked and replaced. We will run a rebuild / soak test over the next 4 hours to ensure everything is ok.

09:00 – Everything seems ok. We are going to start moving customer accounts back onto this server now

18:00 – all accounts have now been moved back onto the server and normal operations have been restored.

Sunday 1st July

12:00 – This server fault is now closed

We apologies for this inconvenience and assure you we are working to keep any outage to an absolute minimum
